The midfielder Deliveries from dead balls and free-kicks caused problems. Was given room to move on the left only to be offside as the pass came with a chance to score. Awarded a well-earned break around the 60-minute point. Six

Jude Bellingham Functioned in a high role down the right while also put in defensive duties. Showed moments of class and scuffed an effort wide. Substituted towards the end for Rogers, his competition, after receiving a caution. 7

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s clearest opportunity before halftime, his shot well saved by Thomas Strakosha. With a teammate holding position, it fell to him to provide width on the right yet his deliveries from the touchline were inconsistent. Taken off late in the match. 6

The captain The match-winner scoring seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth finishes for his country. The first a classic poacher’s finish while the second an excellent headed goal after peeling away away from the opposition. At 32, he’s only getting better and the side have every chance next summer with him leading the line. 8

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to influence play on the left flank. Had a good opening following a pass from a teammate yet Strakosha kept it out. Rashford produced a bigger influence when substituted. 5
